all about erin (hey… that’s me!)

erin renee russo is an actor, singer, dancer, sound designer, and overall good friend.

she’s what would happen if gabrielle from xena: warrior princess and elaine benes from seinfeld combined into one tiny lady.

she graduated in 2022 from the university of the arts, where she received her bachelor’s of fine arts in directing, playwriting and production. when she is not doing the many things listed above, she is watching her favorite horror movies and cozying up with some animal crossing.

erin is originally from long island, new york but now lives in philadelphia. it’s all about the mets, baby!!!!

artist statement

with my work, i desire to examine the complexities of the human mind: why do we make certain decisions, even though we know of their imminent consequences? why do we sacrifice everything for someone who may not reciprocate that same effort? how does our upbringing and life experience shape our decision-making? through theatre, film and television, i want the audience to try to answer these questions along with me. transforming into different people is personally fulfilling- i feel that through the evolution of my character, my view and understanding of myself is evolving as well.

as a multi-hyphenated artist, i have a multidimensional view of acting as a whole. with every piece i work on, i can use my experience in these other fields and implement them into my work, have them inform the questions i ask of the piece. my existence as a multifaceted artist is even more crucial when exploring new work- something i am incredibly passionate about. my experience outside of just acting can help create a three-dimensional piece, and help see the work in a new way.

another passion of mine is horror in all mediums. i grew up watching horror films with my moms, and those moments are not only just special memories- they have shaped who am i and the work that really speaks to me. whether it be acting, designing or directing: horror is something i am always down to explore. we are going through a horror renaissance, and the three-dimensional characters and complex themes could not be more exciting to me not only as a performer, but as a consumer of said media.
